(These are great for Pearl Harbor Day which is Dec. 7th)

Trivia: How many vessels in the U.S. Pacific Fleet were stationed in Pearl Harbor?*

Early on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, two U.S. Army Signal privates manned a mobile radar station -- one of six units on the island of Oahu. Shortly after 7 o?clock, what seemed to be a swarm of aircraft suddenly appeared 130 miles north of Oahu. The information was then relayed to Fort Shafter near Honolulu. They concluded that it was a group of aircraft returning from Midway Island and relayed back a short "Don?t worry about it." We now know that they should have been worried. The attack cost 18 warships, 160 warplanes, and more than 2,400 American lives. The following day President Roosevelt said, "We will gain the inevitable triumph, so help us God."

The name of God is often evoked during war, frequently by opposing sides. Yet, Abraham Lincoln said that he wasn?t concerned about whether or not God was on his side. What concerned him was whether or not he was on God?s side. The Bible gives a clear radar warning of an impending attack, and it?s up to each of us to heed the warning. Did we learn a lesson from Pearl Harbor, or will we simply say, "Don?t worry about it"?

Here?s a check list of the Ten Commandments to see if you should be worried: Have you ever lied (even once)? Ever stolen (anything)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart and we?ve only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. How will you do on Judgment Day? Will you be innocent or guilty? You know that you will be guilty, and end up in Hell. That?s not God?s will. He provided a way for you to be forgiven. He sent His Son to take your punishment: "God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death. "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit -- everlasting life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. God will never let you down.
